Apart from making tuition classes more accessible, Cudy also aims to help individual freelance tutors scale their teaching business online.

Students will be able to live stream tuition and see their tutor and classmates in real-time without stepping out of their homes. It also provides an online dashboard to give them a monthly overview of their classes and work, in addition to a cloud drive to store class-related learning materials.

Singapore-based Cudy bills itself as an edutech startup founded by two university students in 2017, after one of the company’s founders got tired of spending hours schlepping across town every weekend, from one tuition center to another.

Alexander’s aspiration is for Cudy to cut across physical boundaries and become the household name for private online enrichment classes in Southeast Asia that connects passionate teachers to students from around the world.

Cudy provides a platform that connects students with tutors for a range of subject areas. These courses range in cost (typically S$20 - S$50 per lesson), but tend to be about 25% cheaper than those offered by in-person private tutors. Cudy even offers complimentary trial courses to give students the chance try its services for free. Not only that, by studying online you can reduce the amount of time your child would have to spend travelling to meet an in-person tutor.
